A TYPICAL PROJECT

A typical ShARE project involves four to five senior ShARE students, mentored by a professional coach, working on a strategy based market research style study for around four months.

Topics ( see example of projects ) include:

  • Global trend analysis
  • Defining an entrance strategy
  • Designing a new business model
  • Identifying strategic partners

We usually work with global R&D, marketing, strategy, purchasing and HR departments of MNCs.

We have regular interaction with our partners but as opposed to student enterprises, we ensure that our partners don't spend too much time to guide/train/review the students but rather concentrate the little time they have on strategic issues.

THE SHARE MODEL

For each project ShARE students are mentored by a professional coach, who usually spends six to ten working days guiding a project. Coaches are hired by ShARE and tend to be former consultants of top consulting firms (for example McKinsey, BCG etc.)

The coach discusses and negotiate the timeframe and the deliverables with the partner. He also trains the members, reviews their outputs, helps structure the analysis and provides general advice on project management and communication to our partners.

Coaches are an integral part of the model and are a valuable asset to our partners. They ensure that deliverables are of a requisite standard i.e. are clear, relevant and can be acted upon. It goes without saying that a cornerstone of the model is to maximize student’s creativity.

FORMAT OF OUR DELIVERABLES
Deliverables are PowerPoint presentations built using tier 1 consulting firm methodology. Before joining a project, ShARE members are trained for 1 year and have received more than 10 training sessions modelled on consulting skills framework. (see our training here ).
